Replay Connection

ArthaChitra can save the incoming real-time ticks, including Level-II data, which can be played back later via the Replay Connection.

How to save replay data

Please follow the below steps to save the incoming real-time data as replay data

  • In Main View menu bar goto Settings > Options

  • In the Options dialog click on the 'Data' tab

  • Check on the option 'Append replay data'

  • Click on the 'Add Instrument' button

  • In the Add Instrument dialog click on the Add (+) button on the top left

  • In the Instrument Manager View select the instrument of your choice and click on the Ok button

  • Click Ok to save and close the Add instrument dialog

  • Restart ArthaChitra

Now connect to any live connection and make sure to open the Level-I/Level-II stream to save the replay data. Opening a Chart or Time & Sales View or adding an instrument in the Market Scanner View etc will open the Level-I stream. Opening the DOM View or the Level-II view will open a Level-II stream.

If you open a Level-I stream then the Last along with the TOP level Bid/Ask data will be recorded. If you open a Level-II stream then the Last along with upto 5 (five) levels of Bid/Ask data will be recorded. High, Low data is calculated locally.

Note:

  • The replay data as saved by ArthaChitra can take up considerable disk space. As such it is advisable to save replay data for a limited number of instruments only.

  • Replay data are saved from incoming real-time data only. You cannot download historical replay data.

  • The Replay Data can be found in the folder <My Document>\ArthaChitra 2\Data\<Instrument>\Replay
